There are many benefits of scalp massage. Here is a list of a few:
-Increases circulation
-Relieves tension and headaches
-Promotes hair growth and thickness
-Increases relaxation.
Using a massage tool on the scalp has added benefits. Exfoliation of the scalp helps remove dead skin and balance the distribution of naturally occurring oils, thus strengthening roots and follicles. Scalp massage using an implement is recommended 1-3 times a week.
Many other practices are necessary for healthy scalp and hair, of course, including good nutrition, ample hydration, rest, and reducing stress as much as possible.
Another layer to scalp massage is using a hair oil. There are so many. I’ve got a few favorites, but they all have similar benefits. Good hair oils can protect and add strength, as well as moisturize. When using an oil follow the packaging directions.
I rotate through tools and oils according to season and need. Once you try a few you’ll see what I mean.
My usual practice a couple times a week is to distribute my oil onto my ends and work toward the roots. Leave in at least one hour but sometimes all day. I then rinse and massage my scalp vigorously with my fingers or scalp massage tool. Do what feels good and not painful. Wash your hair with your favorite shampoo. (I find that I don’t always need conditioner since using hair oil.) I hope you enjoy adding these practices to your scalp and haircare routine!
Don’t forget the rule of purchasing through my affiliateship. You must complete your purchase within 24 hours of placing an item in your cart. Otherwise I don’t get credit for endorsing it. I only suggest products I use and love!
